The traffic intensity on the motorways increases and the road network is getting more crowded. As a result, not all noise barriers meet the requirements of the sound standards. The safety of road users and the peace of local residents is compromised. Often raising such a screen is not possible or very expensive, because a new foundation is needed. Moreover, the separation of the functions 'traffic guidance' and 'noise reduction' is not always possible due to lack of space. For this problem Haisafe has an innovative sound carrier that guarantees safety and reduces noise: Sound Safe System®.

Flexible and space-saving

The sound barrier consists of a wide STEPbarrier (Haisafe) with screen elements of sound-absorbing wood fiber concrete (Durisol). The integrated system is very narrow and can be placed on the road surface, both next to lanes (single-sided screen) as in the central reservation (double-sided screen). A paved subsurface (asphalt) is sufficient. There is no need for extra constructions and the available space is used more efficiently. The modular system is quickly and easily assembled.

Noise and cost reducing

The sound barrier can be placed much closer to the sound source. That is why the system delivers much more noise reduction than one conventional noise barrier of the same height. This added value can, in combination with a central reservation system, rise to 4 dB, the equivalent of an extra lane. Placing a central guard screen is also financially very interesting. The greatest advantage is created when a comparable (extra) noise reduction is needed on both sides of the road. Then a central guard screen can save up to 30 percent of costs compared to raised side screens. In addition, a middle guard screen.

Safe and responsible

In addition to the safety of road users, the noise barrier also increases the safety of management and maintenance staff. Due to the absence of a roadside, the road can easily be cleaned with a broom-wagon. And for infrastructural maintenance of cables and pipelines, the infrastuct can be connected to the use the residents' side, so that extra road closures are not necessary.

Many applications

The sound barrier is primarily suitable for densely populated areas with a non-permanent road network. You can think of city regions where traffic situations need to be adjusted, but space and noise pollution are an obstacle. However, the system can also be used well at entrances and exits, parking places, ports, tank stations, washing places, shopping centers, and so on.
